To folks who have 17 and export to pdf files.
I just spent the last half hour getting beat up by 16 during an export of a 850K output file to pdf. In disgust, I quit the operation. My question to the above folks is this: how fast does 17 export to pdf? How long to export a 500K or 1M file? I'm curious. Spss swears that printing is faster. I'm wondering if pdf export is similarly faster. Gene,
My biggest frustration with SPSS 16 was problems exporting from the output window (taking an excessively long time or not exporting at all). With 17 I have exported some very large Excel files (up to 3 MB) and export occurs in a reasonable amount of time, so I can definitely say that 17 is better (faster and can handle larger files) than 16 when exporting to Excel. hth--Russ Lightfoot -----Original Message----- From: SPSSX(r) Discussion [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Gene Maguin Sent: Thursday, April 16, 2009 5:26 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: 17 and export to pdf To folks who have 17 and export to pdf files. Gene-
I tested a 340K Output document. It exported to PDF and generated 235 pages and took several minutes, but less than 10 minutes. The pagination of large tables takes quite a while. I also tried printing the Output to CutePDF -- a print driver that generates a PDF document. That seemed to take the same amount of time as exporting directly to a PDF.
