A Few General Questions About SPSS 17

Feinstein, Zachary
I have been using SPSS 17 for the past few weeks and generally like it.
I do have a few questions though:

A few weeks ago I believe an issue was raised on opening data files
(.sav files) from Explorer and I am having that problem now.  How was
that resolved?

How can I save my settings so that the Navigation Pane does not open
automatically each time I open a syntax window?

How can I save the settings so that the information windows (below the
syntax) is smaller each time, but not off?  I have found this very
useful.

And lastly how can I save the settings so that the Tools/Auto Complete
defaults to being off?

I do like the color coding though.

Thanks in advance!

Zachary

[JASON] From Windows Explorer, if Statistyics is not open, double
clicking the data file will open the application, but not the data
file. Once Statistics is open, double clicking achieves the desired
result. I think someone said that this annoyance will be soon
rectified.

[JASON]
Choose Edit>Options....
In the Options dialog, select the Syntax Editor tab and you will
notice check boxes relating to the Navigation and Error panes.
Selections made here persist across sessions.

[JASON] It would appear that the position of the error pane is not
stored, and therefore does not persist. Perhaps this would be a good
enhancement?
