There've been many recent posts to SPSSX-L with very long subject
lines. For example (and I'm choosing these as illustrations, not to point them out) we've recently had, "how to collapse any Exp frequency below 5 using spss syntax?" "The reason to perform linear transformation of independent variables" "How does the modeling nodes handle missing values if you don't do anything to missing values when preparing the data?" I don't know how other list members experience these. I'm using an excellent but older mail client that displays only about 64 characters of the subject, and won't generate replies properly for long labels. But I'd think some of these are hard to read no matter the tool. Let subject lines give the subject or question briefly; and in particular, not be expanded by text like "How do I", or in general not expanded as sentences. For example, the subjects above could be written, "Collapse any Exp frequency below 5" "Why linear transformation of independent variables?" "Missing values in modeling nodes" -With thanks, Richard ===================== To manage your subscription to SPSSX-L, send a message to [hidden email] (not to SPSSX-L), with no body text except the command. Richard, I sympathize in a way, but good luck with anyone complying ;-( One solution might be to do all your SPSS stuff through Nabble. I haven't signed into UGA listserve for probably 2 years now. SPSS-XL Digest hits my gmail but I haven't bothered to read it in a very long time . HTH, David Edited to post SPSS root URL: http://spssx-discussion.1045642.n5.nabble.com/ Nabble also allows Attachments and insertion of pics.
