A word from the management on the situation with Yahoo subscribers

saslmnt
To the subscriber communities of SAS-L and SPSSX-L,

As some of you are aware, Yahoo changed some settings on its mail servers.
The results are causing problems for all Yahoo users (as well as some
others whose mail servers are honoring the Yahoo setting) who post to a
list.  Any list.

Some list owners have set all Yahoo subscribers to "NOPOST" as a
consequence.

It appears that while mail is delivered to all users, persons who post
from Yahoo will have their mail bounced and with enough bounces could get
their address autodeleted.

Here is an article about the matter:

Lsoft (the Listserv folks) are working on a solution from their end,
however, the UGA Listserver is currently an elderly version of the product
and it is unlikely any fix will be available until we have upgraded
(soon).

I regret the inconvenience to all Yahoo subscribers, especially those who
contribute to the ongoing discussions, but there is nothing that can be
done at present.

Yahoo subscribers should NOT reply to this message (at least not to the
list).
