I am new [ish] to using AMOS and am working through the user guide [the only difference is that I am using version 22 but the guide os for version 21]. Everything seems to be working fine, my setup looks the same but when I click on calculate estimates is only goes as far as 'Scanning Hamilton' 'Reading data' and doesn't do anything else. Any ideas what might be going wrong here?

Hello, I am encountering the same problem and wonder if anyone here has found a solution.
I've recently installed AMOS 22 and SPSS 22 onto a new machine. I'm working on CFAs from old .amw files that previously ran without any problems. However, when I try to calculate estimates on my new machine I encounter the same message in the "computation summary" dialog box: Scanning [spss filename] Reading data At the bottom of the window the statement "Not estimating any user-defined estimand" appears. Any ideas as to what might be going wrong? |
Hi Katkate,
Did you define any estimands when you worked on the CFA models on your old computer? If you did, you need to copy that file containing your user-defined estimands into your project folder created under AMOS 22 on the new machine. The user-defined estimands should be stored in a Visual Basic (i.e., VB) file or files. Just copy and paste the VB file(s) into the same folder as your amw files. Hi,
Sorry, I can’t remember!! It was something very simple I know but
completely forgotten as I haven’t used AMOS since I posted that question and I
don’t even have in on my computer anymore.
If I remember I’ll let you know. I think I eventually found the answer
online
Sorry.

Hello
I am also encountering the same problem re: 'Scanning' 'Reading data' when I am running my CFA model using AMOS 22. Does anyone found the solution for this problem? I would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you very much. otep |
