Just produced this with N instead of % and var
labels are there in full. If they look strange, it's because
they date from 1982 when they were limited to 40
characters. If you think that's bad, try using value labels limited to 16
characters in 2 blocks of 8 to avoid wraparound.
Analyze
Tables
Custom
tables
1 Highlight variables (if you can
find them: now you know one of the reasons I hate the drop-down menus!) and drag
to row bar (lights up with crimson squares)
2 Click on Summary
Statistics at bottom left, select statistic(s) wanted and click
Apply to selection.
3 Look for Category
Position at bottom right: default is displayed, so
change it to Row labels in columns
I set to no decimal places (only 143 cases) and
changed the labels as SPSS output tends to be a bit cluttered. Repeated it
with % and this time the labels displayed properly. Did it with both N and
%, but the table is printed with 8 columns (N and % side by side) and is
confusing.
First time I've done this, so I've learned
something as well. Also it'll come in handy for some additional tutorials
on my webpage http://independent.academia.edu/JohnFHall
