Assigning same values to dublicates

fevziesen
Hi all,

I have matched two datasets. But there are missing values at duplicates. And I have tried to solve this problem following codes,

do if  (PrimaryFirst EQ 1).
compute PRC = $casenum.
else.
compute PRC = lag(PRC).
end if.
execute.

the problem is:  filling the blanks if NAME and DATE is same.

the blanks were not filled. What am I missing?

Your code lacks context!
Hint 1:  Check if your key vars match their previous values and then LAG the vars you want filled within a DO REPEAT (if they are missing).  Will leave you to scratch out the actual relatively simple code.
Hint 2: Next time post your actual initial data structures before the MATCH and the MATCH FILES code.
Hint 3 powered by ESPss:  Perhaps you want to look at the TABLE subcommand on MATCH FILES?
