Polychoric, polyserial and pearson in one correlation matix

Juanito Talili
The variables are continuous and ordinal. Can SPSS put in one correlation matrix the polychoric, polyserial and Pearson coefficients of the variables?

Re: Polychoric, polyserial and pearson in one correlation matix

Peck, Jon
SPSS 17 will have a new extension command, SPSS HETCOR, that produces a table with the appropriate types of correlation coefficient among these three based on the variable measurement levels.

It will require the R and Python plugins, but no knowledge of either of those is required.  And it even has a dialog box interface built with the new Custom Dialog Box tool included with 17.  The materials will be posted on SPSS Developer Central.

Regards,
Jon Peck
