Automatic Data Lablel and Value Coding

Björn Türoque
Hi everyone,

The online survey tool I use downloads data to SPSS, but does a poor job of
labeling and applying values to questions. There are two basic types of
questiosn messes up on a regular basis. These types are below, any help in
figuring out a way to get SPSS to automatically recode these types of
questions would be very very helpful and probably save me about a weeks
worth of work over the next year. As an FYI I am currently running SPSS 15
with Python programmability. If you have typs related to SPSS 17 they may be
helpful as well as my company is upgrading to SPSS 17 at the end of January.

Thanks for the help!

quality of this medicine relative to other over the counter
medications that are similar for each of the following traits
Values
