Begin data end data

Jan Veenstra
When I have this in my syntax what am I supposed to put there?  In examples
it has F3 or a number or whatever but if I have a very large file do I have
to put in all the cells or how do you do that?

         Jan,
Begin Data and End Data are syntax devices for the rare cases in
which you input data from within a syntax file (for instance, when you
submit a small example or fragment of a data set to this list, thus not
having to send the full data as attachment). Normally you read data from an
external data file, which could be in any of various formats (SPSS, SAS,
Stata, Excel, Access, ASCII text files, or various others). You can also
type data directly on the Data Editor window, or use SPSS data entry module.
