Hello everyone,
I apologize if this issue has been already posted. I'm experiencing a problem opening SPSS 17 files by double clicking. I was experiencing this problem also with version 16, so to resolve it I got the newest version installed but that did not take care of it. The difference is that with SPSS 16 nothing happened after double click, with SPSS 17 the double click opens the program but not the file. Please let me know if you have any suggestions/solutions. Hi Boris,
This is a known problem that is fixed in Release 17.0.2. Until that's released, which will be very soon, here are the workarounds from our knowledgebase resolution number 80299: As a workaround, please launch SPSS Statistics 17 then select File->Open Data. Or Once SPSS Statistics 17 launches with the untitled dataset, double click the data set again. Once SPSS Statistics 17.0 is already launched the data set should load.
