Business intelligence applications of SPSS on transaction data in 1980's.

If you know of SPSS being used on files of transaction data in the
1980's, please let me know.  By transaction data I mean where the cases
are credit card charges, phone calls, sales, payments, shipments, visits
to/by customers/patients, etc.

If you know of such applications please drop me a brief post with:
the organization (if it doesn't violate confidentiality)
the kind of organization: commercial, financial, non-profit,
educational, etc.
kinds of transactions
approximate years
whether the application was presented at meetings, conventions, etc.

examples in classes, workshops, handouts, promotional material, etc.
