Dear all,
I am a student working on my master thesis in sociology. I am making an analysis of the effect of media preference on feelings of insecurity. However, I seem to cannot generate a factor accounting for variance in media usage. The data I have include a question for one's favorite TV channel and one's favorite magazine. I wanted to perform a CATPCA on these 2 to extract a single factor ranging from a commercial to a public broadcast preference. However, I cannot find how to extract such a factor. I tried normal FA (PAF in SPSS) and CATPCA trough the 'optimal scaling' menu. The last one should do it, but I cannot seem to extract the right scale. I tried converting the data to dummies for each TV channel/magazine, but it did not help the CATPCA. Could anyone walk me trough the factor extraction? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also, I searched the fora but did not find how to perform the analysis. I have been trying for hours straight now and am going slightly crazy.. I thank you in advance for your help! Kind regards, P.Kennis |
With Catpca there is no need to convert to dummies. If you send me your data and syntax I can help.
