If you are doing this so that you can then enter data within the data editor
you can initialize your variables using the NUMERIC command to initialize
numeric variables and the STRING command to initialize string variables.
Additional data dictionary information including variable labels, level of
measurement, display format, value labels, and missing values can be defined
using the following commands:
VARIABLE LABELS, VARIABLE LEVEL, FORMATS, VALUE LABELS, MISSING VALUES.
Go to Help>Command Syntax Reference and click on the command name for
details on the syntax for each command.
