Look up /EMMEANS, and pay attention to the COMPARE option. IIRC, the documentation gives at least one example of how to get the simple main effects of A in an AxB design.

Hi,
May you kindly provide me with the appropriate syntax to test for simple effects for the following “Mixed design ANOVA” design? I have three groups of different participants each of 10 patients. Patients are grouped according to their degree of disc prolapse (1st independent variable; degree of disc prolapse with three levels). I’m measuring one dependant variable (loading) at each of five different conditions of trunk position (2nd independent variable; trunk position with five levels). The five trunk positions are: axial compression, flexion, extension, axial rotation, and lateral bending. I want to compare among the five trunk positions for EACH of the three tested groups and at the same time compare among the three tested groups for each of the tested positions.
Regards and thanks
Amira
