Hello SPSSers,
Over the past few months I have been creating a set of SPSS MATRIX Macros for calculating Effect Sizes in Single Case Designs and Multiple Baseline designs. One thing we would like to do prior to putting them into general distribution is to test them on various versions of SPSS (say versions 14..20). Anyone who would be willing to assist in this endeavor should contact me off list at my email address. (myfirstname.mylastname@gmail.com) -plug in the correct substitutions (I would rather not paste it in this message) . Really interested in the ver 14, 15 , 16 folks. Reason why is that DATASET commands were initiated in version 14, there have been reports that MATRIX has issues with saving results to a DATASET. I would prefer to stay away from writing to the hard disk and would like to figure out the best solution. I actually did the early development in 11.5, so there shouldn't be too many surprises moving through more recent versions. Even if you have a really old version and are willing to give it a go I would be delighted to have you on board. Shouldn't take a whole lot of time, but it will be nice to have a feel for what to expect in all available versions of SPSS that might be encountered in the wild. In addition I am creating a custom dialog which might break in 17? Would really like to know about that. Simply send me an email with your contact information and the version of SPSS you are using. If you have your own data which conforms to the definition of a Single Case Design or a Multiple Baseline design even better. If not, data will be provided for testing and instructions on how to use the code. I am presently creating the documentation/user's manual so it might be bare bones but adequate for the testing. What's in it for you? Let's see, a sneak preview of some really cool stuff?, My eternal gratitude?, Special consideration if you post a really hard question to this list and I know the answer? A home cooked BBQ dinner (or whatever you want me to cook for you) and libations if you venture towards Philadelphia etc. I have also been granted permission from the folks who are doing the theoretical work to distribute the supporting manuscripts. I have signed up once
again to be a Beta tester for SPSS 22.
If you would like me to try running your syntax under that, I would be glad to. Art Kendall Social Research ConsultantsOn 4/24/2013 7:02 PM, David Marso [via SPSSX Discussion] wrote: Hello SPSSers,

That would be wonderful Art.
I have your email and can drop you the code, sample data and docs early next week. BTW: For anyone else tuning in. This Macro will eventually be distributed to researchers for *FREE*. If it goes Viral then it is even all that more essential to have all bases covered. Once code escapes into the wild it is nearly impossible to tame it later. So far all my answers match what the authors have found using R (prototype). ------------------
