Categorical Test

Denis Fitzpatrick-3
I want to run an analysis on a Core Self Evaluation score for occupation, where occupation is broken down into 6 categories.

1. Student
2. Employed
3. Unemployed
4. working in the home
5. Retired
6. Other

Occupation is the dependent variable and CSE is the independent variable.

An independent t-test only allows for 2 categories.

Is there a test which allows for a breakdown of the 6 categories.
