Compatibility between versions

I received a file saved in SPSS 10.0. I am using 14.0. When I opened the file, over 100 cases were missing from the file. What might be going on? Thank you. Anita

SPSS data files are always upwardly compatible.

How do you know that there are 100 cases missing from the file?
