Import the Excel file as is (File > Open > Data, set file type to Excel, select the appropriate file, and exit via PASTE), and then use CASESTOVARS to restructure the file.

Hi,
I have an excel file of survey data which has every question a respondent answered on one row. Therefore for each respondent there are several rows beginning with the respondent ID. I have ordered these so they are in blocks (therefore 1 respondent has several rows of data).
I need to run the analysis in SPSS, and therefore need all of each respondents data to be in 1 row. Can anyone advise how I can convert?
Thanks
TorB
