Converting Output Data Set into Matrix

Barry DeCicco
Hello,

I'm trying to take the corrb (or covb) output data set from a general linear model and perform matrix operations on it.

So far, I can't:

a)  Find out if it's already a matrix (as SPSS defines it).
b)  Convert it to an SPSS matrix.  I've gone through the documentation (and web) and looked for examples,
but they all seem to assume reading in text data.

Could anybody point me to some examples or documentation?

Thanks!

Barry

Re: Converting Output Data Set into Matrix

I assume you are actually using Mixed and not GLM. Can we assume you have successfully used OMS to extract the cov(b)/corr(b) matrix? Can we next assume that you want to use the Matrix-End matrix command set to operate on the cov(b)/corr(b) matrix? So where specifically are you having trouble? What is the command that fails and what is the error message?

Assuming you have captured the result in a dataset, the relevant MATRIX command is GET
eg
GET matrixname [/ FILE=*] [/ VARIABLES=variable list].
