Create a variable with 3 categories

Moshe Marko
Hi,,
I have a variable with three categories:

score of 0-4 category "0", 5-12 category "1', and > 12 = category "2"

I would like to use a logistic regression between category 1 and 2. How do
I eliminate category "0" from the analysis?

Thanks

Moshe

Maguin, Eugene
Moshe,

If X is the variable, why not do this?

Missing values X(0).

Gene has given one way to do what you've asked.  But I'm wondering why you want to do that.  Are you really uninterested in the 0-4 category?  I ask, because another option would be keep all 3 outcome categories, and use multinomial or ordinal logistic regression (via the NOMREG and PLUM procedures respectively).
