An SPSS Statistics data file contains data
and metadata that defines the data. This is the data dictionary. The attributes
you see on Variable View -- variable names, labels, value labels, missing
values, etc. -- are contained in the dictionary.
SPSS Data Collection files typically
store the metadata and the case data in separate files. An MDD file is
a metadata file.

I am just reviwing it.
I was just researching about this and I just want to know as SPSS data
contains data as per the survey,mdd files does not contain the same and
could you please elaborate on Do you want to generate an SPSS data
dictionary from the MDD file?
