Dear all,
I have a dataset of internet users who indicated which of a set of
websites they had visited in the last 2 months. Those who had visited
each website were asked the purpose(s) of their visit. This gives me a
long set of dichotomous variables
web1_1 - Visited website 1 in the last 2 months - Yes (1) / No (0)
web1_2 - Visited website 2...
web1_3 - etc.
web1_4 - etc.
web1_5 - etc.
web2a_1 - 'Just browsing' on website 1 - Yes (1) / No (0) / Not asked
(-77)
web2b_1 - 'Searching for information' on website 1
web2c_1 - 'Searching for a product' on website 1
web2d_1 - 'Chatting/blogging/etc.' on website 1
web2e_1 - 'Buying something' on website 1
web2a_2 - 'Just browsing' on website 2
web2a_2 - 'Searching for information' on website 2
web2a_2 - etc.
I want to present a simple crosstab of these variables showing the 5
purposes as column headers, the 5 websites as rows, and the data showing
the total number of people using that website for that purpose.
I seem to have tangled myself up in knots with MRSETS and the like and
can only manage to produce long, tall tables or short and very wide
tables!
Any help in producing a simple 5 x 5 table would be most appreciated!
