Cumulative incidence and Gray's test

Roberto Passera
Hi all, while SAS has a specific routine to calculate cumulative incidence,
SPSS has not. A couple of years ago, on SPSSX-L archive, appeared a very
interesting contribute (http://listserv.uga.edu/cgi-bin/wa?
A2=ind0509&L=spssx-l&P=R3899) about COMPETING RISKS MODEL. Was anyone able
to write syntax for Gray's test, just to compare two different cumulative
incidence curves? All the best Roberto

Hi Roberto

I wrote the code for the competing risks model you mentioned...

If you send me Gray's paper (I don't have access to it from home) I
promise I'll take a look at it and see if I can write syntax for it.

The reference:

Gray RJ. A class of K-sample tests for comparing the cumulative
incidence of a competing risk. Ann Stat 1988; 16: 1140-54

Best regards,
Marta

"It is unwise to use a statistical procedure whose use one does
not understand. SPSS syntax guide cannot supply this knowledge, and it
is certainly no substitute for the basic understanding of statistics
and statistical thinking that is essential for the wise choice of
methods and the correct interpretation of their results".

Hi Roberto,
did you find an answer to this issue, you asked long ago?
I am in the same place you were!

Thanks,
Paola
