Damageed character rendering in output log blocks (v17)

Maguin, Eugene
I'm probably not the first to see this but what is the problem and is there
a fix?
When using a print command to write to output a longish (e.g., 100) list of
records, I notice that the characters making up the records in the output
log block are either not rendered at all or are incompletely rendered,
usually the lower part of the characters are missing. Opening the block for
editting does not help at all. Needless to say, this problem makes looking
at results on the monitor and deciding what to do next just about
impossible.

SPSS Support-2

Hi Gene,

This looks like the issue in resolution 83094 (below), fixed for Release 18. The resolution contains something of a workaround for 17.

Problem Subject:  Text output is corrupted or not visible within Statistics 17

Problem Description:  I have run a LIST command on PASW Statistics 17 and now I see strange results in my text output. If I scroll through the data, lines of the output appear to be partially hidden or truncated. If I try to get around this problem by viewing the output in a separate window, portions of the text will disappear when I click on them.

How can I get my text output to display correctly?

Resolution Subject: This problem has been fixed in Statistics 18.0.0 - Workaround available

This issue is concerned with editing large text output objects, either within the Viewer or in a separate window. Ultimately, this becomes a refresh issue. If the output is small enough, it is an easy thing to simply cut and paste into a text editor. Alternatively, you might force a refresh by accessing one of the menus within the active window. for instance, you are scrolling through some LIST output and the text becomes cut in half. Simply accessing the Edit menu should force a refresh and make your text readable once more. The simple act of drawing the menu dropping down, refreshes the rest of the screen.

We apologize for this inconvenience.
