Is there a way to date stamp SPSS output files automatically?

I'm not sure what you mean. When you save an output file, it IS date and time-stamped--i.e., you see the date and time in a file browser such as Windoze Explorer. If you're talking about displaying date and time info within the output file, see the "Notes".

If you go under File-Page Setup-Options,

You can set your output to always print the date and time in the header or footer.
