I have a data set that includes a response date in MM/DD/YYYY format. I am using XDATE.WEEK(Date) to calculate the week of the year. My data starts with October 1, 2008. When I do this the weeks start on Tuesday and end on Monday. Is there a way I can recalculate Week and get the weeks to start on Sunday or Monday?

I am probably barking up the wrong tree, but has anyone used SPSS Text
Analysis to code and analyze transcripts? Is there a better tool? The transcripts are of telephone calls from our sales center. Thanks. RG Rodrigo A. Yes, they do because Jan 1, 2008 must have been a Tuesday. Sounds like you want week 1 to begin on Jan 1, 2008 falls. I think the way I'd work this is to use the xdate.jday function, which extracts the julian day, then divide this number by 7, truncate the result and add 1 to it. As in, (not tested but try it and let me know) Compute week=trunc((xdate.jday(yourdate))/7)+1.
