I am using SPSS 18 to open a 2.43MB .SAV file which I have utilized in past versions of SPSS (16 and 17). I have never had an error using this file.
When I try to compute variables, run descriptives, frequencies, or anything that generates output I am given this error: "Any changes made to the working file since 29-SEP-2010 17:55:09 have been lost. The time now is 20:14:37." I have tried other .SAV files; I have downloaded new .SAV files to test this on. It consistently is giving me this error. For three days I have not been able to get SPSS 18 to work with anything I have provided. I utilize a University computer when I run SPSS and have tried SPSS 18 on approximately 5 different computers with no avail. I'm not sure what else to try. Can anyone help me to determine what the problem is and how I can remedy it? Thank you, MRS |

MRS,
I think recall seeing other people post about the same (or similar) problems. I assume these problems are attributeable to program defects. I'd guess with great confidence that there is something posted in the spss question database (kwowledgebase, I think). Check there. But, is your version patched up?? You didn't say. Perhaps the new 03 patch will fix these problems.
