Excel files

Scott Roesch
Hi all:

I am trying to open an Excel file (2007; .xlsx file) into SPSS 15.0
Windows. I have had no luck with the various options I have tried. Can
anyone enlighten me in this regard?! Thanks in advance!

Scott

I had the same problem time ago, and the only workaround (not a SPSS
solution) I found is:

1) installing the "FileFormatConverters.exe" Microsoft application

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=941b3470-3ae9-4aee-8f43-c6bb74cd1466&displaylang=en
2) opening the files with Excel 2003 (the only version I have in my
computer)
3) saving the files as .xls

Then I was able to read them with SPSS 15.
