Are you looking to
learn more quantitative research methods?
Do you need advanced
data analysis techniques for your research?
If so, join us this
summer at the University of Connecticut for DATIC (Data Analysis Training
Institute of Connecticut), and learn HLM or Dyadic Analysis!
Hierarchical Linear Models
Two workshops on Hierarchical Linear Models will be held.
Both workshops cover the same material.
Dates:
Session A: Monday,
June 8 through Friday, June 12
Session B: Monday, June 15
to Friday, June 19
Instructors: D. Betsy McCoach & Ann A. O’Connell
Each workshop covers basics and
applications of multilevel modeling with extensions to more complex designs.
Participants will learn how to analyze data via a multilevel model, and be able
to interpret the results from their analyses. Participants are expected to have
a working knowledge of multiple regression as well as SPSS. Analyses will be
demonstrated using the software HLMv6. Alternative software packages, including
SPSS, will be discussed, and examples provided. Instruction will consist of
lecture, computer workshops, and individualized consultations. The emphasis
will be practical with minimal emphasis on statistical theory, but those
seeking more statistical information can arrange an individualized session
during instructor office hours.

Dyadic Analysis
Dates: June 22-26, 2009
Instructors: David A. Kenny & Tessa V. West
The workshop on dyadic data analysis
will focus on data where both members of a dyad are measured on the same set of
variables. Among the topics to be covered are the measurement of
nonindependence, the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model, the analysis of
distinguishable and indistinguishable dyads, mediation and moderation of dyadic
effect, and over-time analyses of dyadic data. The software package used in the
workshop will be SPSS, but there will be discussion of other packages (e.g.,
HLM).

at http://davidakenny.net/datic/datic.dyad.htm
For each workshop: The
cost of registration is $900 prior to April 1st and $1000 after April
1st. Because the number of spaces is limited, please apply soon by
