FW: Moderated mediational model

A colleague has just ask me the following question.

Quick question.

Given the relationship between variable X and variable Y is mediated by variable R.

But it is discovered that variable I  acts to immunize against variable R. What is R called in the context of path analysis.  And can this model be analyzed within SPSS?

Thanks

I think the best approach would be to use Hayes’ Process Analysis and use his Model 7 . Would most agree? That is, I see the my colleague’s I variable  as a moderator of the relation between my colleague’s X and R And that R is the mediator between X and Y. And does this capture what my colleague is after?  Thanks for responses to this question.
