Subject: Openings for Graduate Student Interns

Hello All,

I wanted to alert you to a position announcement for graduate student interns in our Research and Development Division.  We are looking for graduate students to help out on some of the work we have going such as incorporating adaptive design into our surveys, the development and use of non-response propensity models, methods of questionnaire testing including the use of CARI, or strategies for reducing survey non-response.  The link below will take you to the announcement which will be open until January 31.

Please make sure to read and follow all of the qualifications and requirements (including US citizenship) to be sure your application can be considered.

Please pass this on to others who may have good candidates.

Thanks!

John,
This has nothing to do with SPSS.  I am tempted to remove it.
Please reply to the list and not to my personal email.
Those desiring my consulting or training services please feel free to email me.

I don't see that it's doing any great harm.

However, I do recommend to John (and others) that when posting non-SPSS items (that may be of interest to some list members), start the subject line with "Off Topic" or "OT".  And provide enough info in the subject to allow quick filtering by those who are not interested.  E.g., for this thread, something like:

OT: Openings for Graduate Student Interns, Survey Methodology and Technology

That's my tuppence.  YMMV.

HTH.

The question of postings like this came up some time ago. At that
time, a fairly relaxed style of moderating seemed to serve the
community best: generally, accepting announcements like this, and the
occasional purely statistical question, that are likely to interest
people who subscribe to a list like this, and don't clutter the list
enough to matter.

This is of interest to only a fraction of our readers; but many SPSS
questions are specialized enough to interest only a fraction of our
readers. It's never seemed very hard to read those posts that are of
interest, and skip those that aren't.
