I'm guessing here without giving this much thought but maybe your version of SPSS does not offer TSPLOT? On Thu, Feb 27, 2014 at 6:21 PM, kb07yb <[hidden email]> wrote: I am attempting to complete a PARALLEL ANALYSIS as part of determining how |

TSPLOT has been in Statistics for generations.

I am using O'Conner (2000) syntax for parallel analysis using raw data (found here https://people.ok.ubc.ca/brioconn/nfactors/nfactors.html). I keep getting this warning: Warnings Text: rawdata Command: TSPLOT An undefined variable name, or a scratch or system variable was specified in a variable list which accepts only standard variables. Check spelling and verify the existence of this variable. Execution of this command stops. The variable list is empty or at least one of the specified variables cannot be identified. My first thought was TSPLOT, but the error says that the variables are not there -- not, that the command was bad. You don't *have* to do anything. You have your main analysis. TSPLOT is the final command in the file, apparently making a scree plot. There is no similar command in either the SAS or other setup file, so this was a bonus for the SPSS version. There is a SAVE, followed by a GET. It looks to me like the word "results" has no business in appearing on that SAVE line: The SAVE is for a Matrix, and maybe it does serve a function that I don't know of, but it looks out of place. Try removing that word, and see what happens. Was there an error for either the SAVE or the GET? -- Rich Ulrich Date: Fri, 28 Feb 2014 20:32:33 -0500 From: [hidden email] Subject: Re: Factor Analysis-Parallel Analysis To: [hidden email] I'm guessing here without giving this much thought but maybe your version of SPSS does not offer TSPLOT?
