I am conducting a factor analysis, specifically via principal axis
factoring (PAF) with a Varimax rotation (all all other types of rotations result in this error message) and under the "Factor Matrix" is the message "Attempted to extract 4 factors. More than 25 iterations required. (Convergence=.014). Extraction was terminated." However, for the "Rotated Factor Matrix", there is no error message and that the "Rotation converged in 5 iterations." When I conduct a principal components analysis, I do not receive any error messages for any of the matrices - unrotated or rotated. Does anyone know what this error message means and how I can resolve this? Thanks so much! Hello Teri,
There is a default limit of iterations in FA. Please try to set a higher number in Menu/Analyse/Data reduction/Factor/Extraction/Maximum iterations for convergence.
