Factor analysis; grouping correlating variables and made into a factor

Mozidigital
Hi all,

So, I've run the FA and found for e.g. two factors

    1. Collaboration (a,b,c)
    2. Private work (d,e)

So now how/what do I do to work with these factors? Do I go back into SPSS and collapse the contributing variables (a,b,c) into one? Is there a special way to do this? i.e. collapse mean values or something? Any key words/suggestions would be greatly appreciated

As David noted in another thread, "Google is a wonderful resource!"  Try searching on <factor scores SPSS>.  You'll get plenty of hits including a nice PowerPoint presentation by Karl Wuensch.
