Hey Listers,
Can anyone tell me the layman meaning of Factor loading ?I know a variable to be highly correlated and high loading values to remove it. I am getting confused between correlation and factor loading. I read somewhere "variables with higher loading values are more dominant in the factor. If two or three variable each ask something somewhat similar, and have very high loadings, this may tell you that the latent construct best reflects what these variables are getting at". Why not considering low factor loading and high correlation to remove it ??What is the physical significance of high factor loading ?? Any help would be highly appreciated ! |

This text (or similar) would help as well.
http://www.amazon.ca/Multivariate-Data-Analysis-Joseph-Hair/dp/0138948585 Multivariate Data Analysis Joseph F. Hair (Author), Ronald L. Tatham (Author), Rolph E. Anderson (Author), William Black (Author) There are newer editions but this older one, used is pretty inexpensive and the Exploratory FA section would work well in this case.
