18 Without seeing your questionnaire, but assuming your data
are read in as, say, V1 to V10 in your example, and also that you have variable
labels for each:
mult response groups = group1 (v1 to
v10 (1))
/freq
group1.
..will produce a mult response table using the var
labels. You can use the same logic to produce other groups.
If you want tables by demographics etc. you need to
specify the tab variables as well
eg
mult response groups = group1 (v1 to
v10 (1))
/var sex
(1,2)
/tab group1 by
sex. See my introductory article on multiple
response
and also pages 27 to 35 of my Old Dog,
Old tricks paper, discussing a multiple response question (very similar to
yours) in the 2002 European Social Survey, which has fully worked examples of
two different ways of analysing this question with mult response http://surveyresearch.weebly.com/uploads/2/9/9/8/2998485/old_dog.doc
There is also an accompanying slide-show http://surveyresearch.weebly.com/uploads/2/9/9/8/2998485/slides_3_-_european_social_survey_2002.ppt(slides
13 to 44) for this bit.
