Generating multiple reports across different levels of aggregation

Arthur Burke
Consider a data structure of students' responses to survey items, where
students are identified by grade, school, and district.

The reporting task is to summarize students' responses by grade within
school, by district, and for the whole state.

Custom tables will of course gather statistics at specified levels of
aggregation nicely.

But how could one then automate the report-writing within SPSS - that
is, crank out a separate report for each school and district -- where
the descriptions of the data would be the same (eg. description of
survey item x) with the data for the particular unit plugged in?

Thanks!
Art
