I would like to generate multiple values for the variables a, b, c and d under the condition that the resultant variable 'odds ratio', defined by:
odds ratio = (a/b)/(c/d)
is a constant. It would be useful to generate about 100 cases for any given value of the odds ratio.
Therefore, I would be most grateful for assistance in obtaining the appropriate SPSS code for this purpose.
Hopefully, this code would involve a loop which allows the program to run for a new fixed value of the odds ratio once the 100 samples of 'a's 'b's, 'c's and 'd's have been generated for the previous fixed value of the odds ratio. I am hoping to read in about 10 different fixed values for the odds ratio.
I also have little experience in the use of SPSS syntax and would be grateful if you would take this into consideration when responding.
