Get Pillai's Trace from the MANOVA output

Joao Maroco
Dear All,
I wonder if someone can help me, please.

I want to get a value from a SPSS output (the Pillai's trace from the MANOVA)
and use it for a computation. Something
COMPUTE NPX2=MANOVAPILLAI*N

I guess that there must be a way to do this with OMS. However, I googled it,
Looked into the SPSS archives, and no Look. Also tried to went through the OMS
manual, but couldn't find a easy way to do it.

If someone, know how to do this, I would greatly appreciate

With best regards

João

If you just want to do this once or twice cut-and-paste from the output window to a syntax window.
You could also paste to the data view window.

What's wrong with using GLM?  MANOVA is so old school.
If you insist on MANOVA you might write a script to extract and parse the MANOVA rtf output.

Trying to think of any good reason to use MANOVA.
