Hi all - I'm new to understanding HLM - does this syntax look right?
Aim --> to determine whether a depression group therapy program
significantly reduces symptoms, and whether there was a significant
group effect - no control group, just one group of outpatients at a
mental health clinic
Data are hierarchically arranged in 3 levels - level 1 = observation
(before treatment, after treatment), observations are nested within
individuals (level 2), individuals are nested within therapy groups
(level 3).
DV is depression symptoms, IV is treatment (within subjects, before and
after), want to model therapy group as a random effect. Just trying to
get a handle on the basic syntax analysis, before I go considering
models with covariates etc.
MIXED
depression BY treatment
/CRITERIA = CIN(95) MXITER(100) MXSTEP(5) SCORING(1)
SINGULAR(0.000000000001) HCONVERGE(0, ABSOLUTE) LCONVERGE(0, ABSOLUTE)
PCONVERGE(0.000001, ABSOLUTE)
/FIXED = treatment | SSTYPE(3)
/METHOD = REML
/PRINT = LMATRIX SOLUTION TESTCOV
/RANDOM = INTERCEPT | SUBJECT(group_num) COVTYPE(ID) .
Are there better ways of specifying this - eg with the /REPEATED
subcommand?
