Happy New Year Everyone!
I just installed SPSS 17.0.1 (SPSS + Patch). I was surprised with the changes to the syntax window (I'm coming from SPSS 15.0) and the increased programmability being offered-Python and R. Are there any help books on using the new Syntax Window, on using Python with SPSS, and on using R with SPSS. Any suggestions or recommendations will be appreciated. Besides the help on the syntax window in the main help and the detailed plug-in help installed with the plug-ins under Help>Programmability, I would suggest the Data Management book, which you can download as a pdf from a link on SPSS Developer Central (www.spss.com/devcentral). Look in the lower right corner for the link.
