Hello. Im Fatma.
I want to ask about the syntax how to copy some cases until the end of the rows in my dataset? If i copy it one by one, it needs so much times. For example. Id Var_A 1 15 2. 12 3. 11 4. 17 5. 6. ... ... 1200. I want to make that one become: Id Var_A 1. 15 2. 12 3. 11 4. 17 5. 15 6. 12 ... ... ... ... 1200. 17 Thank you for your concern. Best Regards, Fatma |

Hello Fatma. Your example below suggests that you have a file with Id
ranging from 1 to 1200, but with the values of Var_A appearing only in rows 1 to 4. If it is set up that way, the following ought to do what you want: * Use the LAG function to fill in the missing values. IF MISSING(Var_A) Var_A = LAG(Var_A, 4). * Check that it worked as intended. LIST /CASES FROM 1 to 16. LIST /CASES FROM 1193 to 1200. If that is not what you want to do, please clarify. Please note too that at the time of my response, your message was visible via Nabble, but had not been posted to the actual UGA mailing list. HTH. fatmayuliana wrote > Hello. Yes, that was what i mean.
Thank you Mr. Bruce. About the subscription, i have subscribed through the message i have received in my email. But i dont know why my question was not sent to mailing list. How to fix it? |

As I write this, Nabble still says that neither of your two posts has been
posted to the actual mailing list yet. So something is still wrong. Did you get an e-mail confirming your membership? Perhaps you should try subscribing via the "more options" link at the top of the Nabble archive for the list: http://spssx-discussion.1045642.n5.nabble.com/ It's probably more straightforward than sending commands to the list-server via e-mail. Anyway, good to hear your actual SPSS problem has been solved. fatmayuliana wrote > Yes, that was what i mean. > > Thank you Mr. Bruce. > > About the subscription, i have subscribed through the message i have > received in my email. "Please note too that at the time of my response, your message was visible
via Nabble, but had not been posted to the actual UGA mailing list. " I didn't see it in the Moderator's queue. Here is another one liner for Fatma: COMPUTE X=MAX(X,LAG(X,4)). Thank You Mr. David for your concern in my question.
I have been tried with Mr Bruce's syntax. I'll try it too. From Nabble, it appears that your last two posts have been accepted by the
mailing list. So whatever you've done to fix it has worked. fatmayuliana wrote > Once again, thank you Mr. Bruce for your concern. > I'll try to fix my problem in my mailing list. > > > > Best Regards, > > > > Fatma Yuliana > > > > -- > Sent from: http://spssx-discussion.1045642.n5.nabble.com/ > > ===================== > To manage your subscription to SPSSX-L, send a message to > LISTSERV@.UGA > (not to SPSSX-L), with no body text except the > command. It seems that time is the answer. The post never showed up in the moderation
queue probably because Fatma had subscribed. You would not believe the amount of useless SPAM which piles up in the mod queue every day. Probably something like 100 posts or more. Of these there are maybe 1-3 legitimate questions per week. Oh the elephanting drudgery.
