I am trying to automate the export of SPSS data to an Access database, and
have run into a small problem.
Several of the SPSS variable names are abreviated and use underscores, but
I need to rename these to longer more understandable field names containing
spaces between words.
My first thought was to just use the \RENAME sub command but this does not
seem to allow field names with spaces in I have tried using ' and " to wrap
the field names but keep getting error messages.
My nest thought was to use the \SQL sub command, but so far I have been
unable to find an SQL command that SPSS/Access accepts.
The field names must be caperble of containing two or more words without
underscores, as they will constitute the user interface when we generate a
pivot table report based on an OLAP cube created from the Access file.
Does anyone have any ideas for a solution to this problem?
Many Thanks
