I give up - where on ibm.com are spss 18 patches???

Bibel, Daniel (POL)

I may be an idiot, but have spent a frustrating hour trying to find the 18.0.1 or .2 or .3 patches.

Help please!

Hello Daniel,

The Statistics 18 product is now considered a 'legacy' product and patches
are no longer publicly available directly from the IBM SPSS web site. To
gain access you will need to open a Service Request with IBM SPSS with a
request for access to the Statistics 18 product patches.

To create an IBM SPSS Service Request via web requires registration for an
IBM Web ID. If you do not have an IBM Web ID, you can create one by going to
the following web page and providing the required information:

https://www.ibm.com/account/myibm/profile.do?cc=us&lc=en&page=reg

If you experience problems or have questions regarding registering for an
IBM Web ID, please open the following web page and review the information
provided:

To submit a Service Request, please open the following web page and provide
the requested information:

https://www.ibm.com/support/servicerequest/Home.action

To sign up for IBM SPSS product updates and alerts, please open the
following web page and provide the requested information:

Why in the world would patches not be publicly available?

You said what I was thinking.  As a current user of SPSS 18 this does not strike me as good customer service.

Response to "SPSS is now considered a legacy product" RE: I give up - where on ibm.com are spss 18 patches???

Bibel, Daniel (POL)
In reply to this post by Harold Annen
Thanks for the information -- which would have been useful to have
'somewhere' on the web site.  I was able to download the patch from a
university web site, thanks to the assistance of a user on this
listserv.

I would also like to state (as has been stated before on this list) that
the IBM web site is a real trial to navigate.  As an SPSS user, I was
looking for things dealing with - guess what? - SPSS.  It would be a
real service to users like me if I could have gone to a single address
where I could find what I wanted.

I would respectfully suggest that some thought be made to revise the
site with an eye on user interface and usability.

Hello Daniel,

The Statistics 18 product is now considered a 'legacy' product and
patches
are no longer publicly available directly from the IBM SPSS web site. To
gain access you will need to open a Service Request with IBM SPSS with a
request for access to the Statistics 18 product patches.

To create an IBM SPSS Service Request via web requires registration for
an
IBM Web ID. If you do not have an IBM Web ID, you can create one by
going to
