Hello everyone,
I am using the complex samples module in SPSS and am stuck creating a plan file for my rather complex design. If anyone could give me practical advice I would really appreciate.
The sampling procedure was the following:
A bigger geografical area was divided into 4 Strata. These were provinces.
Within these provinces a number of communes were selected with probability proportional to size. This was the first Clusterstage and the number of communes was not the same for each province.
In each commune a number of villages were chosen also with probability proportional to size. This was the second Clusterstage. Here as well the number of villages was not the same in each commune.
And finally in each village 6 households were chosen by linear systematic sampling. The data were collected in these households.
Every household has a weight that was calculated as the inverse of its probability to be in the sample and is in the spss-file.
Now i want to create the plan file in order to analyse my data but i am unsure how many stages i have to specify. I never used the complex sample module before and i could not find a comprehensible explanation that covered the case of a stratified multistage cluster sample.
I hope someone can give me some advice on how to specify this design in the plan file.
Thank you very much for reading my request and best regards!
