Improved reading of digests (was: Message formats on list)

Allan Reese (Cefas)
Following Art Kendall's advice, I sent commands to change my listserv
settings:

send a message to [hidden email], blank subject line, saying
in the body
   set spssx-l MIME
   set spssx-l HTML

The digest received this morning opens with coloured indented contents
list with clicks to jump to messages.  I've been using "find" and "find
next" on the plain text digests.  So at least part was my fault for
being a dinosaur.

The trick of typing *bold* text may rely on the sender's program
converting text to formatting, rather than the listserv.  I would not
want a listserv to be too human, and pass on only what it *thinks* it's
been told.

Thanks for global interest and assistance,
Allan
