Installing ver 19 64-bit SPSS Statistics

John Fiedler
I have a new workstation running Windows 7 64 . When I went to "My Assets" I
only had the 32 bit version available for download. I called Customer
Service and they overnighted (for free!) a Ver 19 DVD. When I went to
install the software I was not given an option of the version.

My question: How do I determine which version of SPSS is running. Or is the
installation process smarter than I?

I think that the only one version is on the DVD. In 64-bit windows, you have
two Program Files folders: Program Files and Program Files (x86). 32-bit
apps are put in Program Files (x86).  For example, I have installed Smart
Reader which is a 32-bit app and Statistics 19. So I have two IBM folders--1
in Program Files (x86) which only contains Smart Reader and 1 in Program
Files which contains Statistics 19.
