I have a large syntax writing job & would like my secretary to do it but she
doesn't have access to SPSS. Are there ways around this ? For example - a version of SPSS that only allows the user to type & test syntax. Hi Mark,
why don't you write it in WORD and safe the file as .txt? Most SPSS individual licenses allow you two installations (i.e., a desktop
and a notebook PC). If you're not using the second license, install it on your secretary's PC. Mark:
Simply type up the syntax in WORD or some other notepad-like program. Then copy and paste into the SPSS syntax file, <*.sps>. One advantage of using word processors for syntax is that one can highlight, cut and paste rectangles internally, using the ALT key, avoiding the "wrap" default. This is something that cannot be done in the SPSS syntax file. Hope this helps!
