can you approve my method?
I need to do survival analysis for a long term observation of TKA (knee
prosthesis). Using EXCEL I made a list containing the time of follow up (in
years and months) and the status of the patient.
Status 0:
Normal function of prosthesis, patient alive
Status 1:
Patient died
Status 2:
Exchange operation of the prosthesis was performed
When analysing with SPSS there is no way to identify "censored" cases (e.g.
status="1". I used status="2" as the event. The curve looks nice, but from a
total of 207 cases 188 where "censored". Is that because I didn't set a
special time for the end of survival analysis and just analyzed everything I
had?
